Bosch Washing Machine Repair Recs?

Anyone know a good washing machine repairer? One that knows Bosch machines and is prepared to make the appointment around the end of the day 5-6ish?
Hopefully someone knows a person or firm providing a good service.

March Cinema Screening at Station Pub

This months Cinema Screening at the Station Pub is - The Titfield Thunderbolt!!

When the Rail Company threatens to take away their station the Community fights back!!!

Tickets are being kept at a very reasonable £3 and can be bought in advance from You Don't Bring Me Flowers in Staplehurst Road or at the Station Pub itself. There will be tickets for sale on the day but we did have to turn people away last month so get there early!!

We are also showing a short film before the main feature called 'Progression of Love' inspired by last months film Brief Encounter!

This is part of our continuing monthly series at the Station pub of films related to the railway or stations.

Please feel free to come and join us for a film, a drink and a laugh at 6pm on Sunday 14th March.

We look forward to seeing you there!!

Rhubarb and Custard is perfect for children. They did a half panini for my toddler. And there is enough room for children to move around. I prefer it to you don't bring me flowers personally although I realise it's all aboiut taste; R&C seems to be better value for money I think.

I agree re: the Deli under the old management. I haven't been in since it's changed. In the past, it didn't have a wide enough offering so you couldn't really get your evening meal there. I hope that's changed. I'll take a look

Hello everyone, another post from me as Chair of the Lewisham Central Safer Neighbourhood Panel (and also on behalf of Sgt.Dave Laurie who leads the Team).This is to let you know the dates that the Team will be holding their "drop in surgeries" at the Bellway Clock Tower office. They will next be there on Wednesday 10th March 12-1pm and then
Saturday 20th March 3-4pm,
Saturday 10th April 3-4pm,
Wednesday 21st April 12-1pm and
Saturday 1st May 3-4pm.
Further dates and other locations in Lewisham can be found on the web page for Lewisham police along with contact details for the Team; they are currently distributing leaflets to residents that introduce themselves and state the policing priorities for the Hither Green area.I know they are always happy to meet residents and discuss any policing matters or concerns either about the local area or Lewisham overall. In the next few weeks they will also be co-hosting a community Open Day at St.Mungos Hostel (off Ennersdale Road) and as soon as the date is confirmed I'll post details.
The next Panel meeting is on 24th March and as always I'm very happy to raise any issues on your behalf.

The actor at Brief Encounter at The Station Pub was Clive Russell and in his wikipedia entry it even mentions he lives in Hither Green!!

Lewisham Gateway & Loampit Vale Leisure Centre latest.

The Mercury reports that the Government is to pump £20.5m into the Barratt Homes Loampit Vale scheme of the new Leisure Centre on the back of 788 new homes.

Housing Minister John Healey announced the money on 23 Feb at a meeting of the Social Marketing Foundation.

A condition of the money is that apprenticeship opportunities would be created in the building scheme.

The Mercury quotes the Minister as saying...

We have used the power of public investment to ensure that even during the downturn we continued to build the homes the country needs.

But I want to make the most of every taxpayer's pound, which is why I am requiring those benefiting from this extra cash to offer local job and apprenticeship opportunities.

Originally submitted in 2006 the proposal for 62 apartments and commercial unit on the derelict Hewden site has been given the go-ahead.

The demolition of the existing buildings on the site of 72-78 Nightingale Grove SE13, and the construction of a two storey, a three storey and 2 four storey blocks, incorporating balconies.

Comprising:
A total of 496 sq m of commercial floor space,
38 one bedroom,
20 two bedroom and
4 three bedroom self-contained flats,
associated landscaping,
provision of refuse stores,
72 cycle, 2 motorcycle and 12 car parking spaces.

We are running yogic meditation classes on Thursdays 7-8pm. The fee is just £5 per session when you book for 6 sessions and have taken an introductory workshop. Two guided meditation classes are also starting on Saturday mornings 11am-12pm and Tuesday evenings 7-8pm.

Additionally, there will be a free workshop on "Coping with stress" on Tue 9 Mar 7-9pm.

Council takes over Catford shopping centre

The development of Catford Dog Stadium has come to a halt as the developer Countryside Partnership siting the current market as the reason has pulled out. The government agency that owns the land say they plan to put the site with planning permission on the market in the next few months and to form a partnership with a new developer.

Replacing ceilings

Hi Tom

Not really sorted it out yet, but have had quotes of around £1000 per ceiling. I can't afford to fix them at the moment so am living in limbo. Can't decorate or unpack, or even buy furniture until I've sorted the ceilings, but I am due to have an operation in June and I need to make the place comfortable before then. I was thinking of literally just putting the place back on the market, but it's not really practical at the moment....as it'd mean postponing the op...Not a good idea. In fact I bought the flat so that I'd have somewhere ground floor, quiet and comfortable to recuperate.

My lease is a very oldfashioned one, and I don't think it specifically mentions carpets or underlay (they do have carpet, but the worst noise is from the floorboards, and I'd still hear that even if they had fat underlay), and yes I am entitled to "quiet enjoyment" but the guy who owns the upstairs flat (but rents it out) is convinced that my ceilings are the problem and not his floors. The noise is horrendous. I don't imagine that any ceiling could block out the cracking floorboards that I can hear. I am having to stay at work late most nights so that the neighbours have gone to sleep before I get home (usually 10 ish). Otherwise I just can't switch off or relax. The noise is just far too intrusive. And even if I wear earplugs to bed I am woken up at 6:30 by the cracking, sqeaking, bumping, thuds and conversations. So I am constantly lacking sleep and feeling ratty!

Anyway, sorry for the frustrated rant.

I am the freeholder of the upstairs flat and he's the freeholder of mine, which means that we should be able to enforce repairs etc, and so I am probably within my rights to ask him to repair his loose/broken/rotten floorboards...and I am getting legal advice about this. I am also seeking advice as to whether the vendors should have disclosed the problem and therefore whether I can claim compensation. I am putting together the paper work, including all email correspondence I have with them. I mentioned many times to them and the estate agent that I needed somewhere "QUIET".

I am interested to know if/how you solved the problem at your old place!

I have always thought that the art deco building would make a nice house, with aux. flats and workshops. A great shame if it is knocked down. I am suprised it is not listed.
